A Little Swedish Workshop

Last week, Frank client Clas Ohlson teamed up with foodie extraordinaire, Rachel Khoo as she launched her new book The Little Swedish Kitchen at a series of workshops.

With its Swedish roots, the homeware brand was a natural fit for Rachel’s newest book, and the partnership has seen the two working together for the past few months in the lead up to the publication date.

Media and influencers at the workshop were treated to delicious Swedish buns and classic waffles from the book – made in the Clas Ohlson heart-shaped waffle makers of course – before enjoying a chat with Rachel in the sunshine at her Khoolect studio, and taking home their very own waffle maker and some Swedish home interior inspiration…

The partnership has been shouted about on Clas Ohlson’s social channels, with over 25,000 engagements to date!

Royal Caribbean know how to cruise, and it was full steam ahead for their latest campaign with Celeste Barber as they used Celeste’s 4.4 million followers to branch out into the family holiday sphere.

Adapting her #CelesteChallengeAccepted, where she is famed for imitating the instagram photos of top models, into her own #CruiseChallengeAccepted, the hilarious advert shows the mother of two in several underwhelming ‘holiday’ scenarios set in her own home, contrasting to the footage of another family on the cruise. The advert ends with Celeste, fed up and booking her family in for a cruise.

Yet another case study of how to take advantage of the rise of influencers! Where do we sign up?

Introducing: Pink Tax

In this stunt from Burger King, female customers were asked to pay $1.40 more for a portion of chips than male customers. This followed on from research with the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs that highlighted women were paying more for products designed for women, than men were – with women’s shampoo and conditioner costing a massive 48% more than their male counterparts.

Burger King used this opportunity to shout about their support for a new bill which would allow civil action for aggrieved consumers.

We like the idea of pink fries, but not the idea of gender inequality so this is a big whopper of a well done from us, BK!

BT ‘Takes Them All On’

It feels like it’s been a lifetime since the World Cup, but ‘It’s Coming Home’ is still echoing around the office…until Saturday when the Premier League kicks off again.

BT Sport’s new ad shows a young girls journey to school, where she battles her way through the streets with a rainbow flick over Gareth Bale, and nut-megging Deli Alli.

Although the ad highlights the start of the Premier League season, the ‘Take Them All On’ campaign also features the likes of British Tennis’ number one, Jo Konta and boxer Billie Joe Saunders – showing that there’s more to life than just football, and all can be found on BT Sport…

Nonetheless, we’re excited to lose our Saturday’s to the Prem again! Are you?

Intel Turns 50

Intel kicked off their birthday celebrations like any person going through a mid life crisis…by setting the Guiness World Record title for the most unmanned aerial vehicles airborne simultaneously as 2,018 Intel Shooting Star drones were flown over its California facility last week. The company also delved into the history books as they released campaigns from their archive to mark its 50th anniversary. From the globally renowned ‘bong’ premiering in 1994, to the iconic Bunny People in 1997, Intel changed the marketing game for tech companies. Their new ‘Amazing Experiences Outside’ launched in 2016, and looks set to shape the Intel experience for the next few years…
